The boundary between classic IT and Operational Technology (OT) is increasingly disappearing. Production networks, industrial control systems and sensor technology are now being integrated into the same infrastructures that run ERP, MES and cloud systems.

This IT/OT convergence makes modern industrial environments more capable. At the same time, however, it significantly increases the attack surface. A disruption in the office network must never be able to stop a production plant, and a compromised control system must never gain access to the organisation's central data assets.

We plan and implement network architectures for IT and OT environments that securely segment production networks while enabling controlled data flows. These are based on established architecture models such as the Purdue Enterprise Reference Model, combined with Zero Trust principles and standards-compliant protection in line with IEC 62443, NIS2 and ISO/IEC 27001.

For the secure integration of MES, SCADA and ICS systems, we apply multi-layered security concepts: clearly defined network zones, controlled communication paths, structured administrative access and audit-proof documentation. The result is auditable, long-term maintainable OT infrastructures.

Typical projects arise in global manufacturing companies, critical infrastructure operators and corporations with multiple sites. In such environments, it is not enough to install a firewall between office and production. What matters is a consistent architecture for production networks that defines zones, communication relationships, failure scenarios and maintenance access across sites, vendors and technologies. Equally important is the ability to modernise existing production environments step by step without disrupting ongoing processes.

Independent of vendor interests, we analyse existing infrastructures, develop robust target architectures for IT and OT networks, and support their implementation through to operational deployment.
